What we do

Four disciplines, specified as one building envelope.

Most exterior failures happen where two trades meet. We scope the whole envelope so the transitions get designed instead of improvised.

  • 01

    Roofing

Full replacements and targeted repairs, specified as a system — decking, underlayment, ventilation and flashing detailed together rather than patched in isolation.

    • Tear-off & replacement
    • Ventilation correction
    • Flashing & penetration detailing
  • 02

    Siding

Fiber cement, engineered wood and metal cladding installed over a properly detailed water-resistive assembly, with trim and transitions drawn before the first panel goes up.

    • Fiber cement & engineered wood
    • Weather barrier detailing
    • Trim, soffit & fascia
  • 03

    Windows

Replacement and new-opening installations measured per opening, flashed correctly and finished inside and out so the detail holds up long after the crew leaves.

    • Per-opening measurement
    • Sill pan & flashing
    • Interior & exterior finishing
  • 04

    Exterior Renovations

Whole-envelope work where roofing, cladding and openings are sequenced as one project under a single scope, schedule and point of accountability.

    • Full envelope scopes
    • Sequenced trade schedule
    • Storm & insurance restoration

The operating difference

The contractor experience, rebuilt around visibility.

The work is only half of it. Most frustration with exterior projects comes from not knowing what is happening, when, or who to ask. Every Northline project runs on the same internal system, so you are never chasing an update.

  • Clear project milestones

Every scope is broken into named stages so you always know which one you are in and what comes next.

  • Appointment reminders

Inspections, material drops and crew arrivals are confirmed ahead of time instead of showing up unannounced.

  • Progress updates

Short written updates as stages close, so you are not left guessing between site visits.

  • Centralized communication

One thread for your project instead of scattered texts to whoever answered last.

  • Digital estimates

Line-item scopes you can read, compare and keep — not a number scrawled on the back of a card.

  • Project documentation

Inspection notes, material selections and closeout photos collected in one place at handover.

Why Northline

Built on the parts of contracting that usually go wrong.

Exterior work has a reputation, and it is mostly earned. Quotes that never arrive. Crews that vanish mid-project. Details buried under a fresh surface because nobody will see them for a decade.

Northline is built the other way around: define the scope properly, communicate on a schedule, and treat the unglamorous details — flashing, ventilation, transitions — as the actual work.

  • Clear communication

You hear from us on a schedule, in writing, whether or not there is good news. Silence is not a project update.

  • Organized projects

Scopes, materials and crew days are planned before mobilization so your property is not a staging area for weeks.

  • Quality-focused installation

The details that fail first — flashing, transitions, ventilation — get drawn and reviewed rather than improvised on site.

  • One point of accountability

A single person owns your project end to end. No handing you between departments to find an answer.

How it works

Five stages, start to finish.

You always know which stage your project is in and what has to happen before the next one begins.

  1. 01

    Request

Tell us about the property — what is failing, what you are planning and what you want the exterior to do for the next twenty years.

  2. 02

    Inspect

We assess the exterior and document priorities, separating what needs attention now from what can reasonably wait.

  3. 03

    Plan

Receive a clear scope and project roadmap: line-item work, material selections, sequencing and the stages you will move through.

  4. 04

    Build

Your project moves through an organized installation process with confirmed crew days, staged materials and a tidy site at close of day.

  5. 05

    Walkthrough

Final inspection, documentation and closeout — we walk the exterior with you before anything is called finished.

Questions

Before you get in touch.

The things most people want to know before booking an inspection. If yours is not here, ask it in the form below.

How long does an exterior project usually take?

It depends entirely on scope and weather. A straightforward roof replacement is typically measured in days, while a full envelope project combining roofing, siding and windows runs across several weeks. You receive an expected stage-by-stage schedule with your scope, and we tell you when weather moves it rather than letting you discover it.

What actually happens during an inspection?

We walk the full exterior — roof surface and penetrations, cladding and trim, openings, drainage and any visible water entry points. We photograph and document what we find, then separate it into what needs attention now, what should be planned for, and what is simply fine. You get that documentation whether or not you hire us.

How do I know whether my roof needs replacement or repair?

Age alone is not the answer. We look at the condition of the surface, the state of flashing and penetrations, whether the deck and ventilation are sound, and whether the failure is isolated or systemic. Isolated damage on an otherwise healthy roof is a repair. Widespread granule loss, multiple failure points or a compromised assembly is a replacement, and we will show you why.

Can I phase a larger exterior project over time?

Often, yes — and sometimes you should. Where work is genuinely independent, we can sequence it across seasons or budget cycles. Where one element protects another, we will tell you plainly which pieces have to move together so phasing does not cost you the work twice.

What happens after I request an estimate?

We confirm the request and schedule an inspection at a time that works for you. After the assessment you receive a written line-item scope with material selections and a project roadmap. Nothing gets ordered or scheduled until you have reviewed that scope and approved it.
